Time For Some Updates, Lads!!

Okay I haven’t really updated the blog for some time, even though it has been a hectic end to the season, to say the least!!

But now I’m back, and will try to update the blog more often (Even though nobody is visiting:p)!

Cheers for a new beginning!

Manager Change?

Rumours are mounting that former Fulham captain John Collins is on the verge to take the Fulham hot seat…

Fulham are denying these rumours, but it isn’t unrealistic, that Chairman Mo’s patience is running out with our current manager..

We’ll follow the development at Craven Cottage!

Bullard To Stay?

Well at least there are some good news out there!

Jimmy Bullard yesterday vowed that he will stay with The Cottagers no matter what happens, and naturally most Fulham fans would be pleased to hear that in the middle of this miserable campaign..

The popular longhaired jokester of football is definitely an important part of the team, which has to compete for the Championship title next season…

But as you all know football is unpredictable, and so is the transfer market… If Fulham gets a good offer, then they’ll probably not hesitate to accept it even though it means, that our crowd-favorite will leave The Cottage…

Fulham vs. Sunderland

Not much to say really…

It was pure shite all the way through…

To lose 3-1 at home to another mediocre side is just plain awful, and I am slowly losing all hope, that we will stay up…

The first half was pretty dull, and we were mostly hoofing up balls towards McBride, which didn’t suit the crowd at the Cottage.. And in the final minute of the first half Sunderland scored, when Danny Collins - who have scored about 4 times in his career - headed home a Daryl Murphy cross…!

God dammit…

In the second half Fulham did well to push Sunderland back, but it was still Sunderland who grabbed their second goal, when substitute Michael Chopra lobbed Kasey Keller in the 54th minute…

At this time I was shouting vulgarity out the window….!

Suddenly a beam of hope appeared with 17 minutes remaining, when another subsitute David Healy scored from 25 yards out…

But that hope was shattered just two minutes later, when striker Kenwyne Jones killed of Fulham with his killer finish…

Crap, crap and another crap… A miracle has to happen if we are to remain in the Premier League, and I doubt it will happen…

See ya in the Championship…

Halsey Back At The Cottage - SHITE!!

Mark Halsey

The Twat Halsey

I cannot say I have fond memories of saturdays ref Mark Halsey…

I actually don’t like this fella one bit… He is dodgier than most refs, and his erratic performances on the pitch are somewhat disgraceful at times…

One of the first games I saw at the Cottage was Fulham-Arsenal on September 11th 2004, and I couldn’t quite believe what the ref was doing…!

In the first half Andy Cole was brought down in the penalty area by Ashley Cole, and Halsey correctly judged, that it was a penalty… Naturally the Arsenal players did’nt agree, and they surrounded the “poor” Halsey, while shouting abuse at him…

Suddenly…. Something went terribly wrong in Halseys chicken brain, and he underuled his own decision… WHAT!!! People at the stands were totally confused, and there was almost completely silence, when Halsey was running around like a confused beaver in the penalty area…

My boss Daniel Jacquart looked at me and said: “I think he just overruled his own decision”, while looking quite upset, which of course was because of that moron on the pitch..

Afterwards he underruled a perfectly good goal from Fulham, and Fulham could have had a 2-0 lead… But then Fulham just fell apart (Maybe because the ref was a freaking twat), and they went on to lose 0-3 to three quick goals…

After the match Halsey stated that he disallowed the penalty because of the reaction of the Fulham and Arsenal players. What the fuck…! The Fulham players were ready to take the penalty… Did any of them walk up to Halsey to protest the penalty decision?? No, I don’t think so!..

Well today he is at the Cottage once more.. Since the infamous Arsenal match, he has made lots of dodgy decisions at the Cottage (and every other stadium in the UK), and we’ll all hope for a better performance in the crucial match against Sunderland, which might decide our destiny!

Champions League

Well yesterday two matches were played in the Champions League

     - Arsenal - Liverpool (Damn Scousers:p)

     - Fenerbache - Chelski

I had the opportunity to watch both matches, but preferred the English derby between the Gooners and the Scousers…

The match was actually pretty entertaining for most parts, and pressure was mounting on Liverpool during the whole match..

After a couple of decent chances to each team in the first 20 minutes, MOM Mathieu Flamini chipped a superb ball past the Liverpool defence just to see Robin van Persie miss the opportunity..

Robin van Persie then tested Pepe Reina only a minute afterwards with a decent shot from the edge of the box, but the Spaniard got a good save..

And just a minute later Arsenal scored from a superb cross by Cesc. The cross found a totally unmarked Adebayor who could score with ease.. 1-0 Gooners…

But just minutes later Steven Gerrard overtook a couple of defenders in the left side. The captain put a low cross past Almunia, which Clichy and Kuyt together tumbled over the line… 1-1! Crap!

The rest of the 1st half it was all about Arsenal… But especially Adebayor, Hleb and Eboue never found their feet on the pitch with some poor displays…

The dominance by Arsenal continued in the second half, but even with a lively Theo Walcott (on for the injury proned van Persie after 45 minutes) on the pitch, Arsenal just couldnt find a way past the Liverpool defence…

Meanwhile I was getting crazy watching Jamie Carragher hoof the ball up the pitch every fucking time he got the ball… What people see in this guy, I do not get… And in the other side it seemed as though Fabio Aurelio was afraid to go forward as though the Arsenal half was quicksand…

A clear penalty in the 65th minute was ignored by the subpar dutch ref Pieter Vink, when the “technically” gifted Dirk Kuyt tugged Hlebs shirt..

Niklas Bendtner was introduced in the 67th minute, and showed some good passing skills… But soon afterwards he seemed to save a clear Arsenal-goal, when Cesc fired from the edge of the box and hit the long-limmed forwards legs…

But the negative Liverpool tactics worked as the final whistle was blown with the score tied at 1-1….

Man of match was clearly the hardworking Flamini on the Arsenal midfield.. He totally overshined a mediocre Cesc and was a constant threat with his killer passes… Gerrard did alright for Liverpool with his brilliant assist for the Scouser-goal…

Crap of the day was Adebayor, who, although he scored a goal, lost the ball about 1000 times, because he thinks he can dribble… Dumbass…. Eboue didn’t do much on the right as well, and Wenger should consider buying a right wing in the summer…

For Liverpool Mascherano was poor as always… I cannot belive overrated Rafa bought this deadweight for 18.6 million pounds… Fucking crazy! Carragher and his hoofing wasn’t impressive either and Fabio Aurelio was quite tame…

In the other match Chelski was beaten by Fenerbache and a crazy goal by Deivid (Who also scored Chelskis goal)… Fenerbache now has the record for most own goals in one Champ. League season with three… :)

Well Thats It! Stay tuned for more football news written in mediocre English by a Danish writer!

Updates - HELLO??

God dammit… I keep forgetting to update this blog, as I have another one in Danish, which I pay more visits to.. :(

Well absolutely no one has visited this blog, so who really cares:p

But Now I’m Back Baby!

Welcome!

Welcome to The Cottagers.wordpress.com

This blog will contain news about the football team Fulham FC, and the updates will probably be a bit delayed most of the time, as I am a lazy bastard… But what the hell.. I’ll give it a shot!

I am a 25-year old dane (From Denmark! Go figure), who is fairly new in the Fulham fan arena (Since 2004), but I am just as passionate about The Cottagers as any other FFC-fan… My love for Fulham started, when I was a trainee in their Community branch back in ‘04 through my education in service economy (Sports Management), and since then I have been an avid follower of The Whites…

Well that must be enough chit-chat…. Let’s get this thing going!
